Soft washing does not. High pressure does, and badly. Pressure knocks the protective granules off asphalt shingles, which shortens the life of the roof. That is why roofs are soft washed.
It depends on shade, tree cover, and humidity. Heavily shaded roofs regrow faster than roofs in full sun.
